La Marina

La Marina is the quintessential harbour district of Ibiza Town. It was originally home to fishermen, merchant marines and shipyard workers who built wooden boats in the nearby roadsteads. It is a network of very busy streets where a large number of hospitality businesses and establishments are concentrated.

The renovated port is located on the coastal side of the district, while the adjacent Sa Penya quarter and its walls mark the outer limits. The Mercat Vell (an old market), the Peixateria (the fish market) and the Church of Sant Elm form the focal point of the district.
