San José: Living tradition

San José is located in the south-west part of Ibiza, at the foot of the island’s tallest mountain, Sa Talaia (475 m tall). Its town centre is small but very lively.

The centre revolves around the church square. This church was built in the 18th century and has a tall whitewashed facade, a porch with three arches at its base and a side entrance with a well.

Although it has a calm atmosphere, the streets of San José host a wide variety of bars, restaurants and businesses, some of which have a long history.
